How do you aquire staff on your forum(s)? Do you just add your friends or send out advertisements etc.

I hire a person that is active and trustworthy. If they ask too much to be hired, theyre even warned. Shocked

If I had a forum I would post an application thread; I don't want to ask people to be staff because they may say yes just because they don't want to hurt my feelings.

I create topics letting my members know how they be hired as staff and only hiring those members who are contributors to the site.

I never advertise outside my forum for staff. I have done that before and the mod was useless.

I promote loyal members to a staff position if I think they can do the job and if they accept it.

At my forum we only hire members we know can handle the job and do it correctly, along with remaining active. We keep an application center open at all times, a lot of members get turned down but you have to make sure you get good staff.
